It was great to get an indoor track and field meet under our belts and come together closer as a team. The Lady Eagles were able to medal in a plethora of events. Starting in the field events, Brooke Bonds took home a runner-up medal with her 11'0" vault in the pole vault event. Shalom Olotu was able to get over the 5'0" barrier and get a 4th place finish.
Over on the track, the miler (1600 meter run) trio of Brenna Zerby, Emilie Morgan, and Michelle Monroe competed to take home a 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place medal, respectively. Not to be outdone, the 800 meter runners crossed the finish line in 3rd place (Madison Karrigan), 5th place (Ella Morgan), and 6th place (Melody Lewis).
Later on in the day, the sprinters garnished some hardware in the 400 meter dash with Jada Glispie's 5th place finish; while 200 meter sprinter, Favour Ekeanyanwu crossed the line in 2nd place, followed by Lauren Bradfield's 6th place finish in the same event.
The meet was highlighted by the dynamic 4x400 meter relay runner-up finish ran by the quartet of Favour Ekeanyanwu, Madison Karrigan, Jada Glispie, and anchored by Ella Morgan. This united effort culminated in a first place tie to the track meet.
The Lady Eagles return back to action on February 8th at the University of Oklahoma.
